“Mount Kodok” … … at the Reiterkogel mountain station in Hinterglemm is a themed adventure trail, leading young explorers through the magical fantasy world of the goblin, Kodok. Grip, motor skills and courage are required.

In „Montelino’s adventure trail” … situated at the Kohlmais and close to the “CASAMARAI” guesthouse, entertains both children and adults alike. There is plenty to discover and experience here, with lots of fun activity stations such as the giant snake Paula, the large slide and the circus arena.

The “Golden Gate Bridge of the Alps” … … and Europe’s highest treetop trail in the valley head of Saalbach-Hinterglemm is one-of-a-kind. The 1km-long circuit around the treetops and 200m-long/40 metre high suspension bridge are open all year round. Winter evenings see the course lit-up with atmospheric lighting.

Käpt’n Hook adventure pool … Guarantees to not only cool you down on hot summer days, but also guarantees plenty of fun. It includes 3 slides, 1000 m² of water, a baby and toddler area and a beach volleyball court. Those who prefer a little more quiet can enjoy bathing in the magnificent lakes of Ritzensee or Zellersee.

Hiking is one of the most popular activities, with a walking holiday in the Salzburg region offering plenty of diversity during your holiday. A 400km-large and diverse hiking trails guarantee a great experience. A particular challenge for fit Alpine-goers is “The 7 Summits of Saalbach”: approx. 9 hour hike, 24 kilometres and 1,413 metres in height. At all 7 peaks you will experience the feeling of being a little closer to heaven, where time appears to stand still.

Authentic Salzburg hospitality and a homely atmosphere await when entering one of the many quaint lodges, where you can stop for a rest during your hike.

Mountain biking in Saalbach-Hinterglemm

Saalbach-Hinterglemm is one of the most popular and best-loved biking regions with more than 180 km of well-signposted bicycle paths and mountain bike trails for all difficulty levels.

Due to our direct location on the Kohlmais cable car route, bike fans can easily and quickly access the MONTI-TRAIL, as this beginner-friendly freeride route with exciting trails, wide bends and gradual descents runs directly past the “CASAMARAI” guesthouse.

Experienced bikers can take advantage of demanding freeride routes, such as the notorious X-Line in the nearby Schattberg, or the difficult Bergstadl trail in Schattberg-West.

Whether your Austrian biking holiday involves discovering the vast Glemm valley on its gentle bicycle paths or checking out the variety of tours by mountain or electric bike, there is something for everyone from easy beginner trails to demanding mountain bike routes.

Experienced mountain bikers can also ride the legendary “World Games of Mountainbiking” course, and those seeking the ultimate kick should check out the Adidas freeride trail directly on the Reiterkogel cable car route.

In addition, JOKER CARD holders enjoy a price advantage of 30% on all bike tickets in Austria’s largest bike region with up to 9 mountain railways in Saalbach Hinterglemm, in the Epic Bikepark Leogang and in Fieberbrunn, as well as discounts at bonus partners throughout the Salzburger Land. Summer activities

In summer the crystal clear waters of lake Zell invite you to swim, splash around and relax. Swim in water of temperatures around 23° and enjoy a fantastic view of the surrounding alps.

The Ritzensee lake in Saalfelden, idyllically situated in the centre of this relaxing region, offers something special for young and old alike with its health-inducing water, spacious resting areas, sports area and children’s pool with water slide

Tennis enthusiasts seeking the yellow ball will find plenty to enjoy in Saalbach-Hinterglemm. Saalbach has one tennis court and Hinterglemm has a tennis facility with halls and outdoor courts available. Lessons are also available.

This electric cycling fun is a popular sport. It guarantees total fun without arduous climbs. Discover the grandiose beauty of the Glemm valley during an e-bike tour without getting out of breath.

Swing your sticks – alone, in twos or in a group – Nordic Walking is one of the healthiest forms of exercise and can be practiced in almost every country and at every time of year.

Discover nature’s beauty by horseback and feel the freedom and sense of adventure. Rediscover the joy of riding, take a riding lesson or simply have fun on a long horseback ride!

Perfect your tee with the region’s two beautifully located, scenic golf courses. Schmittenhöhe and Kitzsteinhorn golf courses are both 18-hole courses belonging to Zell am See-Kaprun Golf Club.

On a rainy summer’s day, a relaxing day spent at the wellness & thermal spa in Kaprun offers healing for the body and soul. A large water and sauna world await you in addition to the wide range of spa treatments.

The Kohlmaisgipfelbahn takes you up to the Kohlmaisgipfel – that’s where the adventure begins. Equipped with a game pass, which the children receive at the valley station, they follow the clever owl and go in search of the little clown Montelino’s friends and toys. From the mountain to the middle station of the Kohlmaisgipfelbahn it goes through the forest and over alpine meadows, where numerous play stations await the whole family. From the spider web to target throwing, to the giant snake Paula to the puppet theater. From the squirrel’s nest with the golden nut to the giant slide to the circus arena – there is a lot to discover on Montelino’s adventure trail! If you find friends and toys and bring back the smile of the clown, you can take part in a competition with lots of great prizes.

With a pure walking time of around 90 minutes over a length of around three kilometers, the mountain experience on the Kohlmais is ideal for spending half a day to a full day of fun and games on the mountain. Alpine huts with special offers for children along the way invite you to rest.

The magnificently located Heilkräuterweg (medicinal herb trail) at the Reiterkogel in Hinterglemm answers many questions for nature enthusiasts. Does it provide pain relief? Does it have health benefits? Or is there a poisonous herb hidden behind the name? Discover more about the diversity and effects of more than 80 local plants found along the Heilkräuterweg trail. Visits are free of charge. An interesting “Folder of Medicinal Herbs” is available locally.

The “CASAMARAI” apartment house is located directly on the Monti-Trail on the Kohlmais, a beginner-friendly freeride route for young and old. Thanks to their flow and the magnificent view of Saalbach Hinterglemm, soul riders also get their money’s worth. With spacious berms, wide curves, small wooden elements and a slight incline, it enables everyone to start freeriding with ease and a lot of fun.

It is just a 10 minute walk from the Lindlingalm to the nature trail. Educational, valuable information and fun: this is perhaps the best way to describe this nature trail walk. Flowers and plants are described and information about hazards in the mountain is provided on boards. You can easily reach the Lindlingalm using the “Talschlusszug” train.

Go “stalking” along the Glemmerhof archery trail. Concentration, precision and patience are all advantageous characteristics when “hunting” the life-like animals. Plenty of fun is guaranteed!

It will delight children and is the perfect bad weather activity. Visit the various caves and ravines in the surrounding area, such as the Sigmund-Thun gorge. Some of them offer expert-guided cave tours, promising plenty of excitement for the whole family.

  • Totalling 51 kilometres in length, the Vorderkaserklamm, Seisenbergklamm and the Lamprechtshöhle are some of the largest cave systems in Europe. In Weißbach bei Lofer, these three sites are better known by the name “Saalachtaler Naturgewalten” (“Natural Wonders of the Saalachtal Valley”)
  • The “Entrische Kirche“ (“Uncanny cave”) – impressive stalactite cave in Gastein
  • Kitzlochklamm gorge – Journey into a magical world! Found in Taxenbach

The Hochseilpark (High Ropes Park) at the end of the Saalbach Hinterglemmvalley consists of ten climbing routes, a canyoning course and the Europarutschenparcours (rope slide trail) – an unbelievable 8 km length in total! Great challenges and lots of fun await those with courage and a head for heights!

Saalbach-Hinterglemm is a paradise for geocachers with almost 15 km of power trail. Equipped with GPS trackers and coordinates, you can find hidden treasure in the most beautiful places. Experience a completely new and exciting type of walking.

The climbing tower is located next to the tennis hall, offering the perfect terrain for climbing enthusiastslooking to push themselves. Open daily in summer from 9 am – 10 pm. Own climbing equipment is required.

The Käpt’n Hook adventure pool offers 1,000 m² of water with a water slide, white water canal, massage jets and water spouts. In addition, young and old get their money’s worth on the wide and tube slides. Another attraction is the panorama restaurant on the ship deck.
